Belkin has quietly launched the first USB hub that doesn't require a cable to connect it to the computer.

Available in the US from the middle of this month, the Cable-Free USB Hub uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology and the Wisair chipset to transmit information from your wired USB devices to your notebook computer.

Possibly one of the most expensive USB hubs available, the device costs $200, but gives you the freedom to hide away your jumble of wires and devices. It works from a distance of up to 30 feet, and transfers data at speeds of up to 480Mbps.

With room for four USB devices, the hub comes with a USB dongle for your computer so that it can communicate with the device.
