Toshiba reinforces its personal hard drive offering

Toshiba has announced three new hard drive based music players as part of its Gigabeat range. Boasting the 60Gb 1.8in hard drive that was touted back in the summer to be heading into the iPod Toshiba hope to take control of the large storage end of the MP3 market.

Launching 10Gb, 20Gb and 60Gb models, all three have a an integrated plus-sign shaped touch sensor for navigation and a 2.2-inch QVGA colour LCD panel. Although initially launching in Japan at the end of November 2004 the players are due to make it to the UK at some point next year.

Alongside the launch of the Gigabeat F series, Toshiba will also introduced the Gigabeat G10, a slimmer unit with a 10GB capacity.
