WEBSITE OF THE DAY – mysupermarket.co.uk

A website that could settle an age-old domestic dispute once and for all.

Today’s website of the day is mysupermarket.co.uk a comparison website that does more than just compare prices.

This could be the biggest climb down ever: I might have to admit, finally, that my wife has been right all along. Let me explain:

She is a Tesco fan. ”Everything is cheaper,” she has proclaimed every time I’ve staggered in from the weekly shop carrying bags from Sainsbury’s. “There’s no difference,” I say “And Sainsbury’s is a nicer shop…” I add as she shakes her head in exasperation.

A domestic scene that I’m sure is played out fairly regularly in many a household.

Well, finally there’s a way to see who’s right. By selecting your usual supermarket from the big four listed, you simply tour the virtual aisles and add your usual items as you go.
At the top of the screen, a running total is kept, and - here’s the good bit – it compares the running total to the same or similar items from the other shops.
At a glance, you can see how much you could save by switching allegiance.

You might be surprised at how much can be saved as special offers are included in the reckoning and at the end of the process, you can simply buy your virtual trolley full of goodies as the site redirects you to your chosen online supermarket. Let’s face it too: anything that takes some of the horror out of shopping at this time of year has got to be good.

An excellent and very useful addition to anybody’s favourites in our opinion. Just don’t tell the wife about it…
