TomTom has announced that it has released new maps for the entire European region.

Designed for those who purchased a TomTom before April 2006, or for those who need a new map, the latest versions feature an extra 40,000Km of roads, 18,000 new points of interest, and 7000 new roundabouts that have turned up in the last 6 months alone.

The new maps are available to purchase as a download, or on DVD or SD memory cards so that they're easily installed via TomTom Home; when a new map is purchased, the latest version of the application is also downloaded to update signpost information and speed limits.

All the new maps are compatible with the entire TomTom range, including Go, One, Rider, Mobile 5, Navigator 5, and Navigator 6; if you buy one before the end of 2006, you'll get a 20% discount.

For download, Regional maps cost between €39.95 and €59.95, while the whole of western Europe costs €500. On DVD, the map of Western Europe costs €120, while on SD card, it goes for €150.
