WEBSITE OF THE DAY - popmaster.co.uk

A website that proves that you can’t stop the inevitable

I’m getting older. It’s a sad fact of life, but there you go. How do I know? I know because when I was sent this link I genuinely thought it was brilliant. Not because of its clever programming (it hasn’t got any). Not because of its amazing graphics (it hasn’t got any of those either). I thought it was brilliant because I knew exactly what it was for. That’s because I listen to Radio 2.

There. I’ve said it.

Many a morning I’ve spent in the company of Ken Bruce (Terry Wogan’s a bit early for me) and his Popmaster quiz is a popular feature. Of course, you can keep score using paper and pencil - but where’s the fun in that?

This site allows you to hit “right” or “wrong” as you answer the questions and then tallies up your final score. If you register, it will keep track of your results to give you an average.

Of course, you don’t need to use this but that’s one of the great things about the Internet – it’s full of stuff that’s both useful and pointless at the same time.
