You've got to wonder how much some people really want Sony's next generation games console. Enough to pay $9000 perhaps, or even to shoot someone?

Well just a day after the launch hundreds of consoles are on sale on eBay with one selling earlier today for the tidy sum of $9000. If you thought that was crazy some entrepreneurial thieves decided that with queues of people waiting to buy a console that costs around $500 some of them are going to have cash.

American news agencies are reporting that a man has been shot outside a Wal-Mart store in Connecticut while waiting in the queue.

According to police reports, the man was one of 15 to 20 people lined up outside the store when confronted by two armed men who demanded money at around 3:15 in the morning, Lt. J. Paul Vance said in a press release.

Police said the victim had confronted the armed suspects and was shot. He was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital.

Gamers were lined up by the thousands across the United States aiming to be among the first in America to play the much awaited console.
