Apple may be updating MacBooks with Core 2 Duo next week

Play.com spills the beans, it seems

Apple may be dropping Core 2 Duo processors into its line of consumer notebook computers sooner than you think.

Website Play.com has listed MacBooks with Core 2 Duo processors for sale and due for release on 13 November. However, there’s no 15-inch MacBook listed, which was rumoured at one time to be the next upgrade for that range.

Price for the MacBook with 512MB RAM and 2GHz processor start at £900 for the white version. They’ll come with 80GB hard drives and the usual 13.3-inch screen.

So is this a calculated ploy to drum up publicity in advance of the launch, or a mistake on the part of the retailer?
