Acer updates Ferrari laptop with AMD Athlon 64 processor 3000

20 September 2004 8:13 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Just two months after the launch of the Ferrari 3200 from Acer, the laptop manufacturer is updating the specs of the unit with the Ferrari 3400. Still encased in the same red finish the new model will get a faster processor and a docking station port.

The new processor will be the new AMD Athlon 64 processor 3000+ and follow the use of an AMD chip in the Acer range. The introduction of the docking port on the rear of the unit follows complaints and criticisms from the small office market that they were unable to dock the laptop when using it in an office environment.

The Ferrari 3400 on all other aspects of the specification will not change.
