Creative has launched a new USB webcam that doesn’t require driver installation.Called Creative Live! Cam Optia webcam, it's supposedly the first USB Video Class webcam that offers instant Plug-n-Play straight out of the box for users using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and above.
The Creative Live! Cam Optia promises increased video clarity and sharper images through the high quality glass lens, as well as Creative Smart Face Tracking technology that automatically tracks the user's face movements to keep the face constantly in the video frame.
In addition, the company's Advanced Video FX library offers special visual effects including Backdrops and Distortion.
Equipped with a VGA CMOS sensor, the Creative Live! Cam Optia offers video and photo quality with true-to-life colours through video capture at up to 640 X 480 resolution and photo capture at up to 1.3 megapixel interpolated resolution.

The Creative Live! Cam Optia is available in Singapore from November 2006 at a suggested retail price of Singapore $129.00. No price or release date has been set yet for the UK.
In other Creative news the company has also announced the Creative Live! Cam Doodling and Creative Live! Cam FX Creator that recognises facial features and maps to them a number of two-dimensional video effects like masks, hats, eyewear and wigs.
