Sanyo unveils Eneloop batteries and solar charger

Tiny Eneloopy dog also test battery charge for you

Sanyo has unveiled a new battery series called Eneloop with a number of useful accessories. The Eneloop batteries are rechargeable AA and AAA batteries that don’t leak charge when not in use, and can be recharged more than 1000 times before they start losing capacity.

To go along with the battery, Sanyo created the small Eneloop solar charger that recharges the batteries at the bottom of the device, and simultaneously charges portable devices plugged into it via USB.

Sanyo also released the whimsical Eneloopy battery tester, a tiny dog whose nose lights up if a battery still contains charge.

The Eneloop products premiered in Japan, and it's not clear when or even if they'll be available in Europe or the US.
