Tesco has made good on its promise to release budget software solutions for home PCs and has launched six packages.

The range will initially be stocked at 100 stores, to be expanded nationwide in the next 4 months.

The options include an Office suite as well as an Internet Security solution for under £20.

Tesco Complete Office can open existing Microsoft Office documents in its Write, Spreadsheet, Database, and Presentation applications. Tesco Internet Security offers protection against viruses, spyware, hackers and phishing attacks, while AntiVirus and Antispyware, which is on sale for under £10 offer daily updates for the tool that offers online protection.

Tesco PhotoRestyle offers photo editing and vector drawing, and creation of greeting cards as well as PDF files, while Personal Finance lets you manage your money. Finally, Easy Record offers a solution for copying CDs and DVDs and creating backups.
