Sky has made the interesting move of moving into consumer electronics with the announcement of range of Plasma and LCD screens. Available from the end of September exclusively from Sky Buy (www.sky.com/skybuy) the new Sky entertainment range features over a dozen packages to suit every home.

Customers can chose from a range of setups including a Sky 42in Piano Black Plasma screen, to the Sky 17in LCD TV with integrated DVD Player amongst other variations. Sky has also teamed up with Toshiba to offer a rear-projection TV option that will offer a cheaper option compared with the plasma screens.

In the past Sky has kept to selling set-top boxes rather than venture into televisions or plasma screens however they are keen to break into the new terrority alongside the likes of Sony and other television manufacturers. To ensure the hard sell, Sky will even come around to your house install and demonstrate how it all works - once you've bought it of course.
