Orange lures broadband customers with promise of free calls

Orange is upping the stakes in the broadband market following its rebranding of Wanadoo Broadband earlier in the year.

The company has today announced that it is introducing a new broadband package that it is saying will "revolutionise the UK telecoms market for consumers".

Costing £19.99 a month, the company is hoping the lure of free UK calls and 100 international destinations at any time will make them switch from cheaper alternatives, including its own offering for £14.99 with a 2GB usage cap.

The service will offer customers an 8MB line, again 6MB more than its current offering will also come with the company's Livebox wireless modem.

The company also offers a free broadband package with its Orange PAYM £30+ mobile phone account that gives users a 2MB line and up to 2GB download a month.
