PC World is the first retailer to announce its upgrade scheme for Windows Vista for new computer buyers.

From now until 15 March, all PCs and Laptops priced at or above £399 will receive a “free” upgrade to Vista Home Premium edition. However, “free” means that the buyer still has to pay shipping and handling fees for the upgrade DVD through the post.

All those who buy machines less than £399 can buy Vista Home Premium edition for half the recommended retail price.
