Plextor has launched a new external DVD writer/re-writer dubbed the PX755UF.

At full tilt, the device achieves 16x DVD writing speed on +/-R media, and 10x on +R DL discs.

It features both USB2.0 and 1394 FireWire connectivity, and sports a matt black chassis.

Media Quality Check ensures the quality of the blank media, while PlexEraser is an inbuilt destruction utility to securely wipe data from discs. The SecureRecording function allows you to protect data with a password, while Silent Mode ensures that writer can be operated super-quietly when necessary.

Plextor, Cyberlink, Nero, and Sonic software is bundled with the device, which carries a 2-year warranty.
