Swatch launch Fun Scuba range of watches

7 September 2004 23:57 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Swatch has launched a new range of watches aimed at the Scuba set. Titled the Fun Scuba range than watches are designed for lovers of scuba diving rather than professional divers, however they are water resistant up to 200 metres and measures length and the depth of each dive.

Like more professional dive watches the watch will self activate once the swimmer reaches a depth of one metre. From here a dive profile is recorded up to 90 minutes (the average dive normally lasts 40 - 60 minutes) and a depth of 40meters (10 metres beyond advanced PADI qualification).

A log book function on the watch automatically records the swimmers' last dive and a ‘favourite' setting stores particularly impressive dives for those who want to show off to friends.

The watches will cost £50.00 each and come in a variety of designs. They will not however replace those table sums or let you know dive time intervals - for that you'll have to head over to Suunto.
