• These are not the "most expensive" headphones in the world. These are easily eclipsed (certainly in price - and most likely in performance as well) by the Stax 4070 electrostatic earspeakers - which, when combined with the requisite preamp and power supply, go for over $3,000. In the case of the Stax - the technological basis of the design does indeed deliver measurably improved performance - based on the science of acoustics, artfully applied.
