Google has launched a beta version of its Groups tool that is available now for anyone to download.

The latest version is designed to be even easier to use, with a new design for individual groups. Changes in this feature include the option of creating a welcome message, uploading a group logo, and customising the look and style of the page through fonts and colours.

The Pages feature, which lets users create web pages within their group, has also been upgraded so that users no longer have to stick to templates, but can use functions from Google Page Creator.

Other improvements include the ability to use Gmail’s message cards for discussions; the addition of a new Files section for collaboration on documents; and the launch of a new Member area where each user can create a profile and share more information with members of the group about themselves.

The new beta can be downloaded here.
