Asus's value-for-money MeMO Pad tablet is to launch in the UK on 7 March in both 7 and 10-inch variants. The tablet uses a Tegra 3 processor and runs Android 4.1.

It ships in two versions: the 10-inch screened 1280 x 800 resolution MeMO Pad ME301T and the 7-inch 1024 x 600 ME172V. The bigger of the two is priced at £249 while the smaller is £129.

The ME301T features an IPS screen with 350 nits of brightness and should be as good as any other display Asus has offered previously. You also get Asus SonicMaster tech for good mobile sound as well as a portable and lightweight 580g, 9.9mm thick dimensions.

Asus promises 8.5 hours of battery life while playing 720p video, which is particularly impressive. Storing all those movies is covered, with 16GB of onboard storage which can be expanded with an SDHC slot.

Camera-wise, there is a 5-megapixel snapper on the back and a 1.2-megapixel shooter on the front. Asus has also produced something called the FolioKey, which is a wraparound Bluetooth keyboard cover, not unlike that of its other tablets.

For those after the cheaper Android tablets from Asus, they will be going on sale online at Amazon on 7 March as well as Currys, PC World and Tesco.
