PSP game also in development

Bethesda Softworks has announced that the wildly-popular role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be ready for the PlayStation 3 when it launches in the US and Europe.

While Bethesda will publish the game itself in the US, Ubisoft is the co-publisher in the European market.

The Elder Scrolls is also to get PSP treatment, in the form of an edition designed for the handheld console entitled The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, which will be out next spring.

The PS3 version will include new content updated from the current Xbox360 and PC versions, and includes the introduction of a new faction, the Knights of the Nine, as well as new characters, locations, armour, and weapons.

The PSP game will be set in a different region; the differentiation from the larger console’s game means that gamers will find both games compelling and not repetitive.
