Microsoft releases first Universal application: Messenger for Mac 6.0

Instant chat on Apple Mac gets upgradge

Microsoft has released its first Universal application: Microsoft Messenger for Mac 6.0.

The new version, which works on both Intel and the company's older machines adds a number of new features to the instant messenger software.

New features include the ability to chat with Yahoo! Messenger contacts, add a status message that your personal contacts can see and share what you are listening to in iTunes with your personal contacts.

The new version also allows you to search for conversation histories using Spotlight and check the spelling in your instant messages.

Available as an 8.6MB download Apple Mac users of Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later can download the version from today.
