Apple’s 5th generation iPod Video is great for watching TV shows, but watching longer films can sometimes be difficult because of limited battery life.

The MicroPack steps in to boost the iPod’s battery life, giving up to 80 hours of audio playback or 8 hours of video. Rather than attaching to the iPod as other batteries do, it acts as a stand for the device, to make video-watching easier.

Its rechargeable battery is said to be smaller, lighter, and able to recharge more times than other li-ion batteries available.

Other features include 2 headphone jacks, for sharing with a friend, as well as an audio/video line out and FireWire and USB sockets.

The XtremeMack MicroPack Portable Multimedia Dock and Battery is available now from iWorld.co.uk for £55, and is compatible with most iPods except for the Shuffle.
