Lexar launches new JumpDrive Mercury with built-in capacity meter

Lexar has launched a new series of USB flash drives called JumpDrive Mercury, which indicate on the side of the device how much memory has been used.

The display uses electronic paper developed by E Ink Corporation, and doesn’t rely on an external power supply to provide capacity information.

Mercury also comes with PowerToGo software, which lets users access their PC from where they are by installing different windows-based applications on to the device so that they can access their files.

EverNote software, which lets you keep track of all your notes and jottings, and advanced security are also bundled on the device, so that data stored on the Mercury is encrypted and protected from prying eyes. Passwords unlock the various encrypted vaults, while a file shredder securely deletes private data.

The JumpDrive Mercury is available in a 1GB version for £39.99 and 2GB models for £59.99, and provides 66x write and read speed rating.
