No risk of bodily harm from these models though

No blazing batteries this time, just a risk of failure. Toshiba is the latest manufacturer to issue a battery recall because of faulty Sony products.

Toshiba is recalling 340,000 batteries installed in Dynabook and Dynabook Satellite notebooks made between March and May this year. The batteries are at risk of suddenly dying because of problems with storing and transmitting power.

A Toshiba spokesman would not comment to Reuters how much the recall will cost, nor if Sony would have to cover the losses.

There’s no risk of the batteries suddenly exploding, as with those in Dell, Apple, and Matsushita notebooks recalled earlier this year.
