New bike for 2007

Honda’s new-for-2007 CBR600RR has now been unveiled - and, my, ain’t she pretty?

Believe it or not, the CBR600 has been around for 20 years, but the 2007 version is entirely new, with plenty of technology from the MotoGP RC211V variant thrown in for good measure.

In comes a sleek and slippery aerodynamically refined fairing, a wide, aggressive snout-mounted air-intake and an all-new, lighter and more powerful 600cc dual sequential fuel-injected inline four-cylinder engine, featuring the smallest dimensions in its class. The motor itself is almost a kilo less than the previous model’s and, coupled with new engine management programming, gives the new CBR much more torque and ups the power to 118bhp.

Overall, the chassis is 8kg lighter and 22mm shorter. A new Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) is also included to keep the front-end of the bike planted more firmly on the road.

Pricing has not been announced, but the new CBR600RR will be available from March.
