25 August 2004 19:51 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Not content with launching one camera this week it seems Ricoh has launched another. This time it's the Caplio R1. Like the RZ1 its another 4 megapixel model that offers a 28mm wide angle 4.8x optical zoom lens in a 25mm thick slim body.

Almost identical to the RZ1 the R1 also features a 1cm wide macro and fast shutter speed. The camera boasts a 12mb internal memory, takes SD card for optional expansion and 13 shooting modes including continuous video.

The Caplio R1 will be available in retail from September priced at £199.99 including VAT
