As Mac fans get ready for the Apple announcement later today, rumour sites around the web have picked up on the fact that the company's online music store has closed its doors to be updated.

Visitors to the store are presented with the simple message

"It's Showtime - The iTunes Store is being updated."

The news is fuelling reports that Apple is on schedule to launch a movie download store later today both in the US and UK.

What seems to be really fuelling excitement is the omission of the word Music from the iTunes Store slogan.
