Sony has used its IFA press conference to unveil two new Windows 8 tablet devices. Kazuo Hirai, Sony's President and CEO, revelaed the Sony Vaio Duo 11 and Sony Vaio Tap 20 at the Berlin event.

The Sony Vaio Duo 11 sports a surf slider build with a full Qwerty keyboard, while consumers can opt to stick to a slate tablet mode and use the 11.6-inch LCD touch display. A digitised stylus is included in the tablet device.

If consumers are after something a little bigger, the Sony Vaio Tap 20 features a 20-inch display that provides a touchscreen desktop-like experience, something Sony is calling "a tabletop PC".

The device comes with a kickstand, so if you'd rather view the screen at a titled angle as opposed to face down on a coffee table, for example, this can accommodate your needs.

Both the Sony Vaio Duo 11 and Sony Vaio Tap 20 feature Sony's new ClearAudio+ mode sound technology for a an improved sound experience when watching video or listening to music.

Each device comes with a choice of Intel Core processors and Intel HD Graphics 4000 card, while the Sony Vaio Tap 20's picture quality will be enhanced further thanks to the inclusion of the Mobile Bravia Engine 2.

The Sony Vaio Duo 11 and Sony Vaio Tap 20 are both scheduled to be released by the end of October, presumably on or after Windows 8 is officially rolled out on 26 October.
