Nike is celebrating the London 2012 Olympic Games by unveiling a special-edition gold version of its Nike+ SportWatch GPS.

It has all he same functionality as the original Nike+ SportWatch, with a high-vis backlit LCD display and GPS functionality powered by TomTom.

However, this particular wristwatch is decorated with 18 carat gold around a polished white framework. Part of the gold trim has been stamped with Nike’s iconic Swoosh logo.

The watch itself was said to be worn by US sprinter Allyson Felix when she collected her gold medal for her 200m victory. However, as her tracksuit sleeves were pulled over her wrists we’ll have to take Nike’s word on that one.

As with the original Nike+ SportWatch GPS Special Edition - you know, the one for us mere mortals - the gold version will monitor your times, average and current pace, distance covered and heart rate during your workouts.

You’ll also receive motivational reminders and messages when you should be out running, rather than feet up in front of the TV watching the Olympics.

Fancy getting hold of the gold Nike+ SportWatch GPS Special Edition? Tough you can’t, unless you’re an Olympian. However, other colours are available from NikeStore.com from £149. Sorry!
