Star Wars is coming to high definition. Sky has announced that it has struck a deal with LucasFilm to broadcast Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI in HD for the first time in the UK.

Sky is quick to point out that it is the only broadcaster to show the whole saga in HD, as LucasFilm has not permitted the original three films to be shown in HD.

Sky has not yet announced when the films will be broadcast, but Episodes I, II, and III will be broadcast each Saturday for consecutive weeks in September, leading up to the premier of Episode III on UK TV on 30 September.
