Benefon is to supply Karputer, the in-car computer systems specialists with wireless and GPS technology.

Benefon will develop satnav systems based on its own navigation technology for Karputer products, which are mini-PC for use in cars and caravans.

The ICEPAC2 is a fully-functional Windows XP computer and entertainment system that fits into the DIN slot in any vehicle. It features a 7-inch XGA motorised touchscreen LCD disply, and supports DVD, CD and MP3 playback.

Thanks to the new deal, Benefon’s TWIG platform will be integrated into ICEPAC2 for additional location services and navigation services. Its unique features include Finder, which gives users the ability to location other contacts who use TWIG, and Alert, which sends a user’s GPS location to preset contacts in case of emergency.

Visit Karputer’s website for further details about its systems.
