Nintendo may finally be setting a release date for its Wii next-generation console, although it hasn’t quite said as much.

At an exclusive industry event on September 15th in Europe, it looks likely that a price and launch date will finally be announced.

A Nintendo representative confirmed that, “Wii will be playable. Nintendo will be announcing new software at the event and there will be new announcements regarding the Wii console itself”.

The day before the European event, Nintendo is also holding an event in the US, where Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is expected to attend and announce pricing and launch for the US.
