Lite-On has officially declared its intention to sit on the fence during the Blu-ray and HD-DVD war by announcing players for both formats.The first to be released in early 2007 will be the BDP-X1 for Blu-ray playback, while the HDP-Z1 will be launched a bit later.
Both are on show at IFA in Berlin as pre-production samples.
The players will be the first High Definition devices from Lite-On; the company also plans to release Blu-ray triple writer drives, both internal and external.
