Sharp looks to the future

Sharp has announced that it is developing an internet-enabled television at IFA 2006 in Berlin, Germany.

The television will come with a web button on the remote control that allows users to switch the screen to internet mode. Coming complete with keyboard Sharp say the AQUOS screen can be users like "every normal computer".

The monitor will also feature either a 500GB or 200GB hard drive, and the ability to record programmes directly to the drive for playback at a later date.

The company hopes that the television will appeal to consumers when internet download sites are more prevalent.

The company however isn't sure as yet when and if the model will make it to the market.
