Transformers cast list announced

It might still be a year away from the cinema, but the script writers behind the big screen live action adaptation of Transformers due out next year has confirmed a list of characters to be included.

In a special Yahoo! chat session at the end of last week, Transformers screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci announced exactly which transformers will be appearing in the film.

For the Autobots: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ratchet, and Ironhide.
For the Decepticons: Megatron, Starscream, Brawl, Bonecrusher, Barricade, Scorpinok, Frenzy, and Blackout.

Earlier rumours suggested that SoundWave would be included (that was the tape player with the cassette that turned into an eagle), and new characters including an Xbox360 that turned into a robot.

The film is officially slated to launch in cinemas in the US on July 4, 2007.
