Toshiba's computer Systems Division is today announcing the launch of its latest range of external hard drives.

Toshiba’s latest external hard drive range connects to a notebook or PC via a simple USB connection and will be available in three storage sizes, 160GB, 250GB and 320GB. From October 2006 there will be 400GB and 500GB models also available for those looking for more than the average storage needs.

The security features incorporated in this range are through an intelligent software programme known as “Regen” and allows users to make a backup of desired files to the external USB2.0 Hard Drive by simply pressing the front button on the device.

The drives also feature password security and encryption, data synchronisation between two computers, and the promise of an intuitive wizard to guide users through setup, schedule backup and restore processes.

Toshiba’s new external USB hard drives are available now priced at £62 ex VAT for 160GBs, £74 ex VAT for 250GBs and £93 for a 320GB device. The company has yet to set a price of its 400GB and 500GB models.
