Harrods, the London superstore for the super rich and/or super swanky, is to get its own Apple Store. According to sources at Harrods Company, the new concession will be situated inside the world famous department store and feature pretty much everything Apple has to offer, save for a Genius Bar.
According to 9to5mac, the new store will "fit in well within Harrods' surroundings" and "will blend in nicely with the store’s noted architecture". But, as many who have visited Harrods before understand, it will be refreshing that the prices won't be elevated beyond those available elsewhere.
Harrods, of course, is the exclusive seller of the BlackBerry Porsche P'9981, and was the first to take on the Sony Personal 3D Viewer on its UK launch, so is no stranger to consumer electronics. It will be interesting to see how much sway and say, however, it will have over Apple's comings and goings within its hallowed halls.
No timescale has been mentioned as to when we might see the new Apple Store, but it is expected some time this year.
