Sony débuts Micro Vault Mach USB 3.0 flash drive fun

Sony has unleashed what it says will be the first of a wave of new flash memory drives with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology: the Sony Micro Vault Mach.

This USB 3.0 flash drive packs ultra-fast on-the-go data transfers so would be perfect if you're the type of guy who stores large media files on USB sticks for watching when you're out and about (provided your playback device has a USB 3.0 port, of course).

You'll get speeds of 120 MBps (read) and 90 MBps (write) (for all variations above the 8GB one) and it comes packed with File Rescue and x-Pict Story software as well.

The Mach drive, which comes encased in a sleek, solid aluminium body that’s designed to withstand day-to-day knocks, is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavours and they all boast a 5-year warranty.

Out this month, expect the 8GB one to cost around £20, the 16GB one £30, 32GB for about £50 and 64GB for £100. Official prices are still TBC, however.
