Toshiba has shown off a range of tablets in an array of different sizes at this year's CES in Las Vegas.

The new models, if launched, would give users the choice of a 13.3-inch model, a 10.1-inch one, a 7-inch one and a widescreen 5-inch device designed for watching movies.

Following a previous concept by Acer, called the Acer Iconia Smart, shown off at MWC, Toshiba's 5-inch tablet isn't the same size as existing 5-inch models like the Dell Streak or the Sony PlayStation Vita, but instead features an aspect ratio of 21:9 - the size of letter box movies. The thin but long tablet design would be perfect for watching films like Star Wars or Blade Runner.

The prototype unit we were shown was running Android 1.6 but we suspect this was for internal testing. The company's Toshiba Thrive AT150 runs Honeycomb.

Meanwhile the 13.3-inch screen is, as you can imagine, considerably larger coming in at 3.6-inches bigger than the iPad. To give you some idea of scale it is the same size as the bigger MacBook Air's screen.

The tablets, all shown behind glass aside from the 5-inch model which Toshiba showed Pocket-lint on request, aren't currently due to be released to the public. However, it is worth noting that company already sells 7-inch and 10-inch models.

What was promising though was that a spokeswoman for the company told Pocket-lint that if there was enough interest in any of the models, especially the 5-inch widescreen model, Toshiba would put it into production.

So, if you want that widescreen movie watcher, be sure to let Toshiba know.
