Over in China Dell has unleashed the Dell Streak Pro - an Android handset with a twist.

That twist being that it's not really an Android handset at all, not in the traditional sense at least. it comes rocking Baidu Yi, an OS from the Chinese search giant, that is modelled and built on top of on Google's mobile platform.

Baidu has a 76 per cent search share in China and Baidu Yi is designed to offer a more personal service to its 200 million+ registered users. It replaces Google's options for many of the handsets core functions, such as the search engine, instant messenger, ebook reader, and the app store.

As for the handset itself, it's pretty nifty and we'd love to see it hitting the western world with Android clothing on. It is a 3G+ device, powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor. It has a Super AMOLED 4.3-inch, 960x540 display and the screen also includes Corning Gorilla Glass.

There's no word on a release outside of China at the moment though. It goes on sale there "soon" on the China Unicom network. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
