Samsung is apparently planning an 11.6-inch Ice Cream Sandwich tablet with a whopping 2560 x 1600 resolution display, which may be rolled out at Mobile World Congress in February next year - earlier than Apple's iPad 3.
Pocket-lint reported on the possibility of a tablet rocking an Exynos 5250 chip last month, and as well as the huge resolution such a tablet would be able to support 3D.
This new report, coming from BGR, states that there will also be a smaller bezel, meaning that although the 11.6-inch display is a step up from the 10.1-incher currently being sold, the device itself shouldn't be any bigger. This bigger screen will come in a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Other specs to come out of the report include a dual-core Exynos 5250 processor clocked at 2GHz along with Android Beam - a feature of Ice Cream Sandwich - which allows for easy syncing with any Galaxy Nexus you might have lying around. There could also be a wireless docking function which will enable media exchange with an HD TV.
Despite the impressive specs, the tablet to beat next year is still the iPad 3 and it will be interesting to see whether this kind of bump in hardware will be enough to sway folks away from iOS and onto the Android platform.
