We've already brought you a full hands-on of the new Xbox Dashboard, however there has also been confirmation that the remote control Xbox Companion app for WP7 will be coming 6 December.

When the new Dashboard update goes live on 6 December, you'll not only be able to control the interface via revamped voice control, you'll also be able to use your WP7 handset to search your Xbox library for movies, music, games and the like.

There will also be a large amount of info available to view on you phone giving you the ability to see any recently played games, app details and info on your Zune video catalogue. What's also nice is that you will be able to control playback of music and videos as well as.

So all in all pretty nifty, even though we won't be controlling any iPlayer content on out WP7 devices until 2012.

Looking forward to the update? Will you be downloading the app? Let us know in the comments.
