Sony is prepping its PlayStation 3 games console in readiness for the Japanese launch of its PS Vita handheld device.
The version 4.00 update will enable the PS Vita and PS3 to share information, which will mean you'll be able to copy games, music, photos and videos between devices - it's basically all about content management.
Essentially it will also allow you to save PS Vita data on your PS3 hard drive, meaning there shouldn't be any danger of you running out of space.
Other changes that will be included in the version 4.00 update are game patches, sync trophy information and new PSN privacy settings. PlayStation Plus members will also be able to choose to enable or disable each automatic update feature.
The update is rolling out now.
