Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Micro-Star International has released its NX7600GT Diamond Plus graphics card, the first one to support HDMI technology.

The card passed the inspection text for the HDMI VGA card in July; it will be distributed globally at the end of September for around $250.

HDMI is the standard for transmitting both high definition video and 7.1 surround-sound audio signals through the same cable.

The card is optimised for use in 3D gaming, and ensures that games can be played on the latest high-definition monitors and large-screen TVs.
