Adobe updates, improvements and bug fixes

BlackBerry PlayBook OTA update Flashes in. Tablets, BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM, Flash 0

Despite Flash for mobile being on its death bed, whispering its final goodbyes to the devices it once held so dear, it is getting one last hurrah, courtesy of RIM, with Flash 11.1 arriving on the BlackBerry PlayBook following the latest over the air update.

Flash 11.1 for your PlayBook also closes a potential security flaw, although there's no evidence to suggest that any PlayBook users were affected.

As well as the ailing platform, PlayBook OS v1.0.8.4985 (not the big 2.0 update that we're all waiting for) adds Adobe Air 3.1 support, updated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth software to stay better connected and improved syncing with the BlackBerry desktop software.

There's also a fix to the bug that meant that some RIM fans couldn't make payments with their accounts in the BlackBerry App World.

The OTA update will show up in your notifications ribbon some time soon. You can also check for the software update at any time in the settings menu under Software Updates.

New PlayBooks will come loaded with the updated OS.
