A Blu-ray player is finally making its way Down Under, and will get there some time in October, says Samsung.

The company is set to be the first to release a Blu-ray player in Australia; an HD-DVD player is also due to be released in the Autumn.

In June, Toshiba launched the Qosmio notebook computer that integrates an HD-DVD player in Australia, but it has been shy about announcing a release date for its standalone player, on sale in Japan since April.
