Motorola Motokey Social Facebook friendly phone official

Motorola is to join the Facebook Phone club with the Motokey Social, a friendly looking phone that has just gone live on the soon-to-be-Google-owned company's website.

The Motokey Social packs a physical Facebook button, just like the Vodafone 555 Blue, and, like the network's effort, uses a proprietary OS rather than treading the Android path.

Its spec sheet isn't going to blow you away, but it's likely that this will be a budget phone for the kids. There's no mention of the processor but its RAM is listed as a paltry 64MB. There's only 128MB of storage on board as well, with only 50MB of that afforded to the user.

However, there looks to be a micro-USB option. And the yoof will love the social network aspects which includes Facebook, of course, as well as Twitter and an email app.

The display is a QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) TFT LCD and media playback includes H.263, H.264, MP3, MPEG-4, WAV, AAC, AAC+, AMR, AMR WB, MIDI and AMR NB. There's also an FM radio and a 3-megapixel camera with 30fps video recording.

Connectivity is GSM 850/900/1800/1900, EDGE Class 10, Wi-Fi 802.11b, 802.11g, WCDMA 850/1900 and Bluetooth 2.1.
