The HTC Rezound multimedia powerhouse has been revealed in New York, bringing with it Beats Audio - the very first time the technology has been implemented on a mobile in the US.
First coming under the guise of the HTC Vigor back in August 2011, the new HTC Rezound will deliver a healthy portion of hi-spec, so it'll play pretty much any content that you care to throw at it.
The Rezound gets a 4.3-inch 720p display along with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB RAM powering it all. Storing all that content shouldn't be a problem with 16GB of internal storage backed up by 16GB via microSD.
Connectivity is taken car of with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, whilst the handset will be DLNA certified which, along with Verizon Wireless’ fast 4G LTE network, should make the handset chug along nicely.
The cameras will be a 2-megapixel front-facing, with a hefty 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 sensor and capable of 1080p video capture at the back.
As mentioned the big feature is the audio quality, that is supposed to deliver "thundering bass, soaring midrange and crisp highs with stunning clarity and incredible stereo sound". There's also a pair of headphones bundled in with the handset.
And whilst this is nice, there is also an interesting implementation of Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) connectivity, so you can watch content from the Rezound on an HDTV, including 5.1 surround sound and SRS WOW HD surround, and take advantage of your Home Cinema setup.
Android fans should be happy also, as despite the handset being released with Android Gingerbread (2.3), an update to Ice Cream Sandwich has been confirmed for early 2012.
The HTC Rezound will be available in the US on 14 Nov at Verizon Wireless and at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores for $299.99 with a new 2-year contract.
Whether this will be UK bound isn't certain as yet, but we'll keep you posted on any developments.
