Apple has confirmed reports that since the iOS 5 update there have been issues affecting the battery life of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S handsets.

There have been numerous complaints across the web, especially on Twitter, of the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 battery life problems and Apple had yet to come up with a statement as to the cause.

Various solutions had been bandied around, including turning the Setting Time Zone option off; the presumed bug would continually ping the location server even when the user remained within the same time zone, acting to drain the battery.

However, Apple confirmed to the Loop that it has found the bugs, stating:

"A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices, we have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks."

Hopefully we'll get a more accurate time frame for the bug fix soon.

Has Apple responded in good time or do you feel it should have been quicker? Let us know...
