Of course you can and here are an array of apps that highlight was is not only possible but that should make your life a lot easier when it comes to getting that perfect gift for you or the one you want to treat in your life.

Amazon Windowshop

Amazon has a perfectly good website that will work on your iPad with no problem whatsoever, however you kinda have to know what you are looking for for it to be effective. Amazon Windowshop is the online retailers attempt at getting you to browse the Amazon store.

You can either opt for pre-chosen categories or type in a search term. Instead of a list of results the app gives you a grid of product shots that you can quickly scroll through as if, wait for it, you were window shopping its store.

Quick and simple to you use you can narrow your searches further to hone in on the products you are after.

Be careful though, it makes it incredibly easy to spend money, and get lost browsing the array of treats on offer.

Groupon Deal Widget HD

We bet you like a bargain, and there is no-one else out there more that wants to give you a bargain that the chaps at Groupon.

Here the Groupon iPad app gives you access to all the current deals from Groupon in your city without you having to mess around with the website as well as letting you see more "national" deals too.

Ultimately the app is one big list that lets you quickly glide your way through the deals available at any one given time, but it does make it easier than loading up the website.

Deal information can be shared via email and deals can be purchased easily when clicking the detail view.

IKEA

Ah the Ikea catalogue loved by homes across the country and epitomized in films like Fight Club. Chances are you've got a copy of an Ikea catalogue sitting on a book shelf or your coffee table just in case someone in the family needs to know the price of a Billy bookcase.

Fear not our Ikea hotdog loving fans you can now get a copy of the ikea as an app that does nothing other than be a page turning app for you to look at in wonderment.

Just like the printed 2012 IKEA catalogue, this version is packed with pictures of rooms with furniture with funny names. 

The app comes with bookmarks, search and the ability to jump to certain pages. And if you are worried that you don't know where your nearest store is, there is a store locator as well. Amazing.

If sitting on the sofa sounds like a boring idea you can use your iPad to make notes so you remember when you are out shopping.Remember the milk is one such to-do list app that lets you jot stuff down in a simple list to you don't forget stuff - don't worry there is an iPhone version so you can check your notes on the go too.

Users are able to sync with Remember The Milk online, organize the way you want to with priorities, due dates, time estimates, repeating, lists, and tags, as well as see tasks nearby and plan the best way to get things done.

While it isn't as comprehensive as something like Evernote, its simplicity is the key here.

If you're a girl reading this you'll probably already know about the Figleaves website, if your a guy, Figleaves is a fantastic online lingerie shop that just also happens to have a iPad app for you to browse the catalogue.  

The app works because it is easy to use and has been designed to make use of the iPad's screen size and swiping ability. Everything in the catalogue can be easily ordered without just being a link to the website and there is even exclusive content and deals to be had.

eBay

Let's face it, the eBay website is a mess. Here the company tries to simplify things and on the whole it works with the iPad app. It is now a lot easier to navigate and search for that second hand bargain.

Optimized specifically for the features of the iPad you can either search for stuff or simply use it to check your own eBay account via the "My eBay" area.

Ocado

Ocado is a home delivery service that's most famous for selling Waitrose products and delivering them to your door (it also sells its own other stuff like flowers and books - bet you didn't know that), so you don't have to traipse around the supermarket bored.

The free app lets you add food to your shopping basket throughout the week before it's then sent out to you at a delivery time of your choosing. The interface is incredibly clean with various views to make it easier to understand, and the idea that you can be on the bus doing your food shop is incredibly appealing and in practice easy. Once you're ready to commit, you can then choose a delivery date, opt for a cheaper one if someone else in your area has also gone for the same slot and then pay. No computer to faff with, no hour wasted in your local supermarket.
